Port Royal has a long and varied history that can be traced to the late 17th century and since 1964, the redevelopment proposals for the town have been outlined in at least ten (10) plans. These plans were reviewed through a collaborative government initiative and varying aspects were extracted to create the current Concept Plan. The purpose of this plan is to guide the evolution of the town to achieve improvements in Infrastructure & Housing, Environment & Historic Preservation and the creation of increased Economic Opportunities while promoting sustainability and resilience in its design.
